Joining iron without being welded is nothing new but usually the result is not as strong as if it were connected by welding. We can connect iron with an iron glue for example, but of course the strength is not much if given a load on the metal being joined the glue will of course come off.

Now, how to connect iron using tin can be done by burning the iron first and just rubbing the tin on the hot iron. So to melt the tin does not require a soldering iron.
